Sketchr?

Flickr’s official rule is that anything that is not a photograph (i.e. drawings, paintings, sketches, etc.), gets marked Not In A Public Area. That means no one can see it but the person who uploaded it, and I think maybe their contacts. Flickr’s preference is to stay photo-oriented. So I’m wondering - why isn’t there a Sketchr? Something for people like my sister who draws like a mad woman (I don’t know what that means) and would upload awesome things all the time. Does anyone know of such a thing? A sketch-hosting site friendly to the pencil/pen/paint/etc. artist?

there are sites out there that aren’t so main stream for people making art… I am looking at this site a lot lately: http://www.stencilrevolution.com/ but it isn’t really for sketches.

This one looks promising… I didn’t check it out fully but I did like this feature: you can check a box that selects your random viewing to include or NOT include ‘adult’ stuff. Which is always weird to me. Calling it ‘adult’ I mean. At Dakota House I finally had to remove a sign from our library shelves which housed books other than children’s. It was written by a former DH resident and it said ‘Adult Liturture’. I hated to take it down though cuz it made me laugh every time I saw it.

Anyway…here’s the site (and I think it has a nice name) :

Okay upon further investigation (I should be working right now but clearly I am not) anyone can add captions to your submissions… and… you know… there are a lot of icky people out there brandishing keyboards…. and mostly there are photos submitted…not much sketching… though there is some. Whatever.

I guess your sister might have to have her own blog of sketches.

This artist’s blog (called “my sketchbook”) is sketches and only sketches.
