Don’t Forget Your Condiments
Coming home this afternoon, I decided to devour a frozen burrito. I mean, a heated burrito. Which was once frozen.
And as I popped it in the microwave I thought:
“I’m gonna need some sour cream.
We don’t have any sour cream!
Ooh - ranch dressing would be good.
Everything is good with ranch.
Ranch, or chocolate syrup.
We don’t have any ranch dressing!”
And so I ingested a warm, dry, once-frozen bean and cheese burrito on its own. At that moment I realized that since I left home I have been terrible at purchasing condiments. At APU it was ketchup. We never had ketchup. And then we had a LOT of ketchup to compensate.
The point is: life needs some flavor. Sauces are your friends. Dressings make things a little more exciting. Sour Cream, even in its dairy simplicity, will nicely compliment even dryest frozen burrito (after heating). Those of you beginning your journey into independence, heed my words. And buy a pepper mill. You’ll never look back.
