Congress Via RSS

I’m really trying to pay more attention to government activity lately, for a couple reasons.

1. I can’t really complain about it if I don’t know what I’m talking about.
2. I’ve been watching a lot of West Wing lately, and I think I might have a better handle on things.

So the geek in me was pleased to find that the Washington Post has begun a “Votes Database” for Congress. Your Senators are listed there, and if you click on their names you’ll be taken to a page containing a short biography, the dates they are up for reelection, their latest votes, and an RSS feed by which to subscribe to their current votes.

I’m already learning wonderful things! Example: “Motion to Invoke Cloture” really just means, “I’m Hungry, Can We Vote Now?”

If you ever want to read something actually printed on paper, I subscribe to The Economist and hey, we’re neighbours.
