PiñaBlog Bits and Pieces of Piña

My experience has been that my faith comes out unintentionally where I’ve been working since I’ve been working. That’s been at a corn maze, the nut house with josh haas, and in my four terms as a long term sub at lincoln elementary. It comes out because it comes out when we’re talking about things in society, in our personal lives, etc. Even then, it doesn’t come out directly; my views come out directly. When asked where my views are coming from, that’s when I’ll let the cat out of the bag and say I’m trying to be formed by my faith.

Oops, I hit return!

I’ve found that the views the Bible has on many things (and I’ve kind of latched on to) are instigative and pique some interest. But more importantly, what I’ve found that makes people feel safe talk things over with me is that I try to fight the idea that anyone is right with God. Yes, yes, imputed righteosness, but I’m not talking about that. I’m much better at admitting I still need Jesus.

It’s an untrruthful pretense we’d all be better without. Right with God. Since when? We’re all trying to get there. Some are standing outside and some of us are just already in the hall. That’s the only difference. We’re all still walking there.
