A Taste Of Ripon

Exactly one week ago Lyndsay and I moved to Ripon, California. Several friends provided their time and vehicles to haul our entire lives down into the Central Valley. It was incredibly smooth, and incredibly fast, and it’s incredibly weird.

Within a week of moving we were signed up with the Manteca School District for substitute teaching. My first job will be Tuesday, when I’ll be hanging out with some seventh and eighth grade English students. I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of blog material this will provide.

Thursday night was “Taste of Ripon.” Several of the businesses on Main Street open their doors in the evening to provide hors d’oeuvres, and pour wine into your “Taste Of Ripon” Commemorative Wine Glass. Entertainment ensued.

This weekend we watch a friend get married in So Cal. When we get back home we start jobs and such. The real fun begins.

  2. your dad and i are reading your blog post. those are some lucky 7th and 8th graders. they just don’t know it yet. wish i was in that class. (mostly because i love english?) you should remember to call your dad when you get back home so he knows his kids arrived safely. hint, hint.

  3. A taste of Ripon sounds like a great event. Plus the commemorative wine glass, what a great welcome keepsake. We should do something like that in Oakhurst…
