Sore From This Wiikend

My bro-in-law, Tyler, purchased a Nintendo Wii, and we’ve occasionally had the opportunity to play. The only thing I’ve had any real experience with is “Wii Sports,” the game that comes packaged with the system. It’s Tennis, Boxing, Golf, Bowling, and Baseball, and if you’re unfamiliar with the how the Wii works, it’s pretty physical.

This weekend I engaged in a boxing match with my father.
And I lost.

This idea of adding a physical element to a video game system is pretty awesome. One guy even lost weight, doing nothing more than adding 30 minutes of Wii play to his daily routine.

However, after a few games of tennis, and several minutes of punching my dad in the face, my arms are sore.

I’ve played this thing too. It can make you sweat. It’s also dangerous to play tennis in a small space with a long-armed person. (a hard-learned-lesson)

unreal. Actually it is probably very real. Which is the point, I guess.

They just came out with a program of virtual worship experiences. But with the Presbyterian one, it instructs you to sit in the back of the room and put the Wii sticks under your butt and remain seated through the entire experience. It last under an hour…
