In recent phony news, a church concerned about favoritism recently added “Executive” to each staff person’s title.

The Youth Pastor is now the Executive Youth Pastor. The Executive Pastor is now the Executive Executive Pastor. His secretary is the Executive Assistant to the Executive Executive Pastor.

Surprised? You mean you don’t remember that part in 1st Timothy about executive leadership vs. mere mortal leadership, and double compensation and all that jazz?
