Vegas, Baby

So it looks like we’re going to Vegas.

My sister Robin is going to have a baby. This baby, in particular. And she’s due in March. Her shower was supposed to be in Monterey over the weekend and we were to be traveling there on Thursday. She’s had some complications recently, as in her blood doesn’t like the baby’s blood. But no fret - though it will likely be painful and difficult, the doctors are confident that the baby will be fine. And one day soon I will have a niece.

However, they won’t let her leave home (Vegas), and so instead we’re going to her, because I’ll be damned if I don’t see both my sisters at the same time, and poke Robin’s pregnant bulge with Giddy Uncle Jubilation.

I talked to her this evening and she was telling me about all the shots and gross things she’s encountered lately. But the doctors are always shocked at her stoicism to needles. See, she was in this accident several years ago and basically broke her whole body. She’s pretty much over the whole “Scared of Medical Things” by now. She even likes to watch it when they poke her.

“Blood is such a pretty color!” she told me.

I guess she’s right.

Cory! Thanks for the laugh. Er….laughs. There have been several lately; and I agree that blood is a pretty color but even being an EMT I am still not fond of watching myself being stabbed. Props (and God’s blessing) to your sis and her offspring. Have fun traveling. - Caleb

Its a shame that your sister cannot leave… but I heard that doctors are required to tell patients that they are legally obligated to have what happened in Vegas, stay in Vegas.

Blood is a lovely color! And it tastes good, too. Have fun in Vegas.
