Vatican: It’s OK To Believe In Aliens
Break out the tinfoil hats.
Yahoo: “Believing that the universe may contain alien life does not contradict a faith in God, the Vatican’s chief astronomer said in an interview published Tuesday.”
Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes: “How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere? Just as we consider earthly creatures as ‘a brother,’ and ’sister,’ why should we not talk about an ‘extraterrestrial brother’? It would still be part of creation.”
Confession: when I was in High School, a certain youth leader of mine asked me if I would lose faith in God if it was discovered that there was Life on other planets. I had never thought about it before. Now I wonder …
I’m glad the Vatican cleared this up.
